The real freebies are quieter: brands posting samples to grow a mailing list, restaurants giving away birthday treats to bring you in, the gov.uk schemes that pay for things you didn't know were covered, the library card that unlocks £200/year of ebooks and streaming for nothing. None of them require a credit card, a "free trial," or a friend's phone number.
